An isolated example — just the sound, a few hits — is the most useful first recording. In-a-beat examples show what it can do.
Should I learn this now?
Easier after Lip Roll — the control you build there is what makes this one click.
Start here: the steps below. They are written for a complete beginner — no vocabulary needed.
Pull your lips into a wide smile and press them lightly together.
Push air through one corner until it buzzes.
The smile stretches the lips thin — that's where the gritty tone comes from.
Slide the buzz point along the lip line to bend pitch.
Rolling, buzzing textures from continuously vibrating lips.
Instead of one clean pressure release, keep steady air flowing so your lips vibrate continuously — a controlled buzz. Tension changes the pitch; pressure changes the aggression. This is the family of lip rolls and lip bass.
