Messages had the right pieces in the wrong order — friend requests filled the top of the page and pushed your actual conversations toward the fold. Messages now leads with what you came for.
Online Now
A strip of friends who are online this minute sits at the top of the page, green-ringed, one tap into their thread. It answers the question you actually open Messages to ask: who can I talk to right now?
Being online is a friendship privilege, not a public fact. Only your accepted friends can see that you are around, and only you can see which of your friends are. The navigation bar carries a small counter — how many members are online, and how many of those are yours — with no names attached to it.
Requests find you now
Pending friend requests wear a green badge on the chat icon in the navigation, so you hear about them wherever you are on the site instead of stumbling on them days later. On the Messages page they fold into one line you expand when you want to deal with them, and your conversations sit back at the top where they belong.
Better threads
- Links in a DM are clickable, and the first link in a message gets a preview card with the site, title and thumbnail.
- Long conversations no longer push the message box off the screen — the messages scroll, the composer stays put.
- Moving between pages now shows a proper loading screen instead of a frozen one.
